To change visual effects such as fade menus, mouse shadow, visual styles on buttons, drop shadows for icons, slide open boxes and buttons etc.:
~~> Right click on My Computer
~~> Select Properties
~~> Click on the Advanced tab
~~> Under Performance, click on the Settings button
~~> From here you have a list of items you can select

If you have installed more than one operating systems. When u switch on ur PC then it shows a list of these Windows. If your desired / complete windows is on third position in the list and you to set it as First option and disappear the other list then u should do:-
~~> Right click on My Computer
~~> Select Properties
~~> Click on the Advanced tab
~~> Under Start up & Recovery, click on the Settings button
~~> From here you have a list of Operating Systems. You can select ur desired Windows
In case of disappearing the list
~~> Change "Time to display the list of operating system" to 0 or 1 Second

5. When you click on shut down the PC. Windows sometime show you a message that programs are going to shut down, for which you to wait. If you want to shut down all the running program with PC shut down then follow the following steps:
~~> Click on “Start”
~~> In “Run” type regedit and press ENTER key
~~> Point to KEY_CURRENT_USER->Control Panel->Desktop
~~> In the right side find out “AutoEndTasks”
~~> Right Click on it and modify its value from 0 to 1 and click on Ok
~~> Go to “File” Menu and select “Exit”
