The greatness of many people is not recognised in thier life time but it was different in the case of Allam Iqbal.He was honoured as a great poet and thinker the world over .He ruled over the hearts of men and gave a message of self respect through his poetry  to the youth of today.

but one cannot deny the intellectual role of Allama Mohd. Iqbal, what he has played in the development of thoughts of nation called "Pakistani"
Any how Khushal Baba was a legend & represented Entire Pashtoons, Pashtoons of the whole world.

the poet i like. he gave a new diretion to the poetry.                   A revolutionary poet and was impressed by the pushtoons' ideology. i have heard from my teacher that he took the idea of ''shaheen'' from the pushtoon poet khushaal khan khattak.

NOW here is a question??
if we have the men like khushaal khan khattak from which the world's top class poets took ideas why we are ignoring them.
like i have a friend in lwargee where the scholer poet and          roohani peeshwa AMEER HAMZA KHAN SHINWAREE is buried, he said that the GOVT has announced and finance the              HAMZA ACADEMY but still there is no stuff like that.even in the library of hamza academy his own books are not available.
NOW are we ignoring them or we all are just dead.
i don understand it.
wake up friends whats going on to our culture and its traits.

You are right that Khushal Khan khattak was a great poet of Pukhto , I am 100% agree with you brother , but also you have to admit that Iqbal is honoured as a great poet and intellet all over the world and no one could deny the greatness of Iqbal .

Salam Malang Pashtoon, well pathans are called as khans all over the wrold , and as for as this matter is concern that the britain gave us the name khan . so i dont belive in history. I strongly belive i action . and Actions are guided by inner emotion or external circumstances .so this is my inner emotions what i do .and  yes i will not call Khushal khan khattak as khan. although he is recognised as  Khushal Khan khattak  . But any way well try to avoid calling him Khan .

Malgaro!
The fault lies in our educational system and curriculum that we are taught Iqbal ,Hafeez Jhalandry,Sofi Ghulam Mustafa Tabbassum etc but Khushal,Rahman,Hamza,Ghani are ignored.This tragedy has created many brain-washed pukhtoons,who are all praise for the formers but know nothing about the laters.Even they can not read a word of pushto.Iqbal has only heard of "Shaheen",but Khushal Baba had kept many of them.He has composed a whole book on them,called "Baznama".He was a practical man,while others only espoused "Dreams".I think Iqbal does not belong to "HUJRA" in the presence of Khushal Khan Khattak.That's all.

ofcourse iqbal was a part of curriculam, but only to the extent "lab pe aathi hai dua ban ke thamanna ........" pakistan establishment d**n care for iqbal or watever......
his philosophy is worth reading, he was a man of knowledge.

If we r unaware of pashto poetry, the problem is that our elders never care to aware us of pashto literature and the great pashto literary men and their philosophy.

we can not afford to keep ourselves away from sources of knowledge. rather to know wat n where the treasure lies, who knows.

We are free on this forum to discuss the philosophies of our pashto poets.
how many of us have discussed Ghani's philosophy.
give me any one website where any one pashto poet or philosophers work is exhibited.
Tell me who cares to discuss their philosophy or do any research on their thinkings.

I am sorry you took it bad Sadagula! What i was emphasizing that we have pearls of our own but they are lost in the fabricated history.One should keep his eye open and explore them,if your curriculum does not show them to you.I am of the opinion that our Khushal was far better than Iqbal and Iqbal became Iqbal when he followed Khushal.But it was his good luck that he was promoted by fabricated history and khushal stayed at the back because Pukhtuns could not read or write Pukhto.Majzoob is better than Wordsworth but i am sure you would not heard of him.Similalarly we can afford equal matches for all your heroes in Pushto but you should open up your eyes and not close them.KHAFA MA SHE<WRORA!

Let me finish it in clear cut terms.We pukhtuns make history but other people write it for us.Our heroes are either tainted as villians or just neglected,because we are a nation of illitrates.But pukhtuns have worked out many analytical masterpieces on Khushal and comparison of Khushal and Iqbal,but alas! we have no pukhtun readers.That's why we are so much blurred by others,who have good luck to have means of media and access to the people.Bya Khafa Na She.

I am afraid i have no idea whether comparitive analysis of Khushal and Iqbal is available on any website.If some interested pukhtun knows about it ,i request him to come forward and lead us to them.However you may find plenty of analytical works on this subject in the Pushto Section of Archive Library near Peshawar Museum and in Pushto Academy,Peshawar University.Please go and dig it out.
